Leadership and Love
Leaders: It’s only love of the people that puts their worth and value above your own. It’s love of the people that will put their lives above your own. It is love of the people that will make you bear the insults of the people that you come to lead. Because Black people are difficult to lead, and if you don’t have love, they’ll wear you out. So the question I would ask is, “Why do you want to lead?” Have you checked your heart? Do you love enough to suffer at the hands of your own people to advance us?
